We’re Claire and Ian— kitchen veterans turned home chefs, recipe testers, and flavor chasers from the Pacific Northwest. Between the mountains, markets, and rainy-day cooking sessions, we both fell in love with cooking early on and haven’t stopped since. Red Pot Blue Pan is where we share the dishes we love most—simple, satisfying, and always made to share.

Hi, I’m Claire!
I’ve loved cooking and baking since I was a teenager, and that passion carried me through years working in professional kitchens—three years in the kitchen of a cozy French-Italian restaurant, followed by four years in a bakery, and a couple of summers working at an American style diner. While I’ve since stepped away from the restaurant industry, my love for food hasn’t gone anywhere. Cooking for friends and family is how I show love, and creating delicious, feel-good recipes is my favorite kind of creative outlet. For me, recipe development is the perfect balance of comfort, curiosity, and reward—plus, I get to eat well along the way. I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope you find something delicious to share.
And I’m Ian
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by mountains, ocean, and one of the most vibrant food scenes in North America. Living near Vancouver meant being immersed in a world of flavors—especially the rich, diverse traditions of Asian cuisine—and that early exposure sparked a lifelong love for food.
I spent several years working in an industrial kitchen, where I learned to respect the craft and rhythm of cooking. That experience lit the fire, and I’ve been cooking ever since—now from my own kitchen, balancing my day job in tech with a deep passion for exploring new flavors and sharing good food. Travel fuels my curiosity, and I love getting to know a place through its food. Every destination has a signature flavor, and for me, the best way to connect with a culture is one bite at a time.
